“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”(John 15:4-5 NKJV)
Here we are, December 1, 2021. Thanksgiving has ended and now comes Christmas. For the last few days, I have been feeling like I’m in Martha-mode, looking ahead to see what needs to get done, including the things I want to get done.
The season is great. I love to give. I love to give to my family and my amazingly awesome dear friends that are on journey with me. Those are the most fun, prophetic gifts to get to search for. Usually, they find me and not the other way around.
But as odd it seems; I love the idea of making gifts for strangers. Surprising them with an unexpected gift. That’s on the want-to list. I think it makes me all giggly inside because that’s the way our Papa God feels about us. He’s excited because he knows he’s about to give us a gift, we just don’t have a clue it’s coming.
It reminds me of a few wonderful times when we were one our way to serve some women during a ministry event. We knew what we were bringing and what we had asked the Lord to do, but they had no idea what the plans were. I was so giddy walking up, in expectation of our great God, doing great things! Why? Because God answers prayers and he is full of surprises. He did not disappoint. Many were saved and many more were touched by God.
However, in the midst of all the preparations, I cannot afford to miss my Mary-time. I am saying that because I need to say it for myself, and I want to say it for you. Man or woman. Don’t miss the time at his feet this Christmas. We cannot afford to as a church. We must be full of the Holy Spirit, connected to the Vine, otherwise, we will have nothing to offer the world in need.
And the reality, he is AMAZING. Why wouldn’t we? It shouldn’t even be a sacrifice to be with him. (The absurdity of that thought is kicking in as I type.) He is amazing. I encourage you to open up your heart to Him this season more and more. Because the more we give him in surrender and the more vulnerable we are with him in his presence, the more we will experience of him.
Side note: I feel so refreshed right now because I just came out of prayer and listened to this new, anointed worship set. It’s fire. I believe it will refresh you too. Go ahead. Get your Mary-time.
Let me pray for you. Lift up your hands –
In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray that you would release a fresh impartation of your glory over this reader. Let your glory rest on them and allow them, Holy Spirit, to receive a fresh touch from you. No matter what is going around them and no matter what is happening in their life cirumstances, I pray that your glory would overshadow them as they lift up their eyes to the hills. Where does their help come from? Their help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Glory, hallelujah. Our God be praised! Help us all stay connected to you, the Vine, this season. Because, Jesus, you ARE AMAZING! Amazing indeed. Thank you, Lord. We give you glory. Amen and amen.
