There is so much grace coming down from heaven that even as you breathe and read this post, the Lord is singing over you. He is sustaining your life whether you realize it or not. (see Zephaniah 3:17) Just the thought of that overwhelms me. Thank you, Jesus.
I know the time draws nigh with all the gift-giving and meals and side dishes to make, or in my case, pick up. But as we all, as dearly loved ones of God, wake up by his grace, draw each breath we breathe by his grace and our hearts beat in unconscious rhythm to the sound of his love, let us pause together look to the One who satisfies us in life. Just, for a brief moment, put your to-do list aside and gaze on the beauty of the Lord.
His manifest glory and rich love have been over me each morning recently as I have woken up in his presence before the alarm goes off. That, my dear friend, is the most beautiful way to awaken. To the fragrance of the Lord and his manifest glory. Resting on us. Thank you, Jesus. You are so beautiful. (see the section on smelling on the supernatural page)
I believe God wants so desperately to fill each of us with his love, that he is willinging to risk rejection. You know, the times you and I keep going and going even though we could feel the pull of the Holy Spirit to come away with him. Forgive us, Lord and thank you for your persistence.
But today. Why not today? Why not now? God wants you to fill you now.
Earlier I was thinking about how the gifts and call of God are without repentance. God doesn’t change his mind after he gives a gift.
Read it for yourself –
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Romans 11:29 (KJV)
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29 (NKJV)
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].” Romans 11:29 (AMP)
I did not grow up knowing that verse. I knew many others. But it wasn’t until a few years back my best friend used it as we ministered to our waiter in Applebee’s. Wow. Yeah, it’s in there. It’s in the bible. Praise God. Can you feel the grace on that?
It’s not too late and you’re not too far gone to receive a fresh touch from God to pick up the pieces and move on with call of God on your life. You’re not too far from his grace. For his forgiveness and to forgive yourself and others. Trust me. He’s right there behind you. Yes, right there.
If you dare, do a prophetic act. Stand up. Turn around as a sign of repentance that you’ve been going your own way, and open up your arms to give Jesus an air hug. With joy he will embrace you. You’ve just gotta turn around. Because, when he called you to sing, he didn’t mess up. He didn’t make a mistake. When he called you to preach, he didn’t pick the wrong messenger. When he called you to write or when he called you to pursue that wild dream of seeing many be saved, no, he didn’t call the wrong one. Repent. Change the way you think about things and yourself. Stand up. Turn around and embrace the One who is right there with you. He’s there now.
….Okay. I waited for you. How do you feel? Glad you put your to-do list aside for a bit?
Breathe.
Breathe.
He’s good.
He’s good.
He’s good.
I’d hand you a kleenex if I was there with you. And jump and shout with you too.
And I want to encourage you. Get your bible out soon. Start to read it to him, like a child would their Father. Have a moment with your Papa. He’s good. And he’s smiling.
Okay, dear one. I’m excited for you. To press on towards the goal for which Christ laid hold of you for!! Today. Glory, hallelujah. Our God be praised.
Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV)
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
