ROE VS. WADE

This morning I was touched by a powerful word and challenge given by Christy Johnston on YouTube. Her word confirmed many things the Lord has been speaking to me recently, therefore, I am compelled to write. There is a strong word of encouragement at the end of her video. To watch her word, scroll below.

As she called women to rise up and share testimony of their overcoming of abortion, specifically testimonies of dreams, visions and encounters with the Lord, we were reminded of the promise given to all believers in Revelation 12:11a (NKJV) – “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”

By sharing these things with others, we overcome the enemy when we testify against him.  Sharing what God has done in our lives.  Like, when I say, the Lord has delivered me from anger, perfectionism, fear, pride, religion, just to name a few, each time I speak these things to others, I am overcoming the enemy because the precious blood of Jesus speaks on my behalf, and I speak of what Jesus has done for me.  SO much. Amen.

I was born in 1978, so I’ve never known the United States of America to be without the bloodstain of abortion. Roe vs. Wade was established in 1973.  Forgive us, Lord.

Although I have not personally had an abortion, I choose to rise and stand with my sisters who have for the healing of the land through the powerful word of their testimony against the enemy. Those who have overcome and those who are overcoming.  God heals all wounds.  He is not only Healer, but he is your Healer.

Within the last few weeks, the Lord has been challenging me to come out of my state of comatose and apathy.  To remember what burned in my heart long ago. That he had placed a passion in me toward the issue of abortion.  Now, I see it as a call to prayer.  Deeper pray than I’ve known yet.  I weep as I type.

More than 20 years ago, as a young lady I was passionate about the reality of what abortion was.  What it is.  That it is murder. Before I wrote this blog post, I tried to find the old copy of the school newspaper I wrote for, but I could not. Must be in the attic somewhere.  But at one time, we had opposing articles written and published about abortion and the horrors of it to the child.  I had the side of pro-life and another had pro-choice.  Because we as humans have the ability to discard information, some choose to discard the reality that children in the womb really can feel pain. It is taking another person’s life, and many have been deceived to think otherwise.

Please read this as I mean it. Don’t become angry with me.  I am standing with you for healing. If you have had an abortion, God is merciful. And he will forgive anyone who repents.  He doesn’t want to see you in shambles.  He wants you to be whole. He doesn’t want to see you in pain anymore, with regret, sorrow and disconnected.  He wants to forgive you and walk with you in this life.  He LOVES YOU. Yes, you.  There’s nothing too hard for God.  I encourage you to tell the devil to shut up and open your ears to your Papa who has his arms open wide for you and is ready to clothe you in his righteousness.  That is reality.  The enemy never wants people to know that they have a Father who loves them and will cleanse them from all unrighteousness through the blood of his Son Jesus.  The enemy wants everyone to think that’s false. Shut up, devil.  You know it’s true otherwise you wouldn’t be working so hard to keep people from seeing that.

Two Sundays ago, our pastor preached on Nehemiah who wept when he heard the news that the walls of Jerusalem were in ruins. The wall of Jerusalem that was in ruins was not in his own backyard.  It wasn’t a problem in his own house.  The “problem” was literally 1,000 miles away. This was a problem far, far away.  But still, he wept.  Why did he weep? He wept because it hurt the Lord’s heart.

Nehemiah wept over a problem that was far away.  And I have been purposefully ignoring a problem that is near.  Not 1,000 miles away. In our own land. One that is very near to the heart of God.

For 20 years, I have chosen not to feel the pain of the innocent out of convenience and apathy.  I have chosen to turn a deaf ear, all up in my own business as if those things don’t exist or don’t have an effect on my life. As if there were nothing I could do anyway.  Forgive me, Lord.  Forgive me.

My point, we cannot be silent.  I cannot stay silent.  To sit back and not do my part. I must be awake. Be praying.  To be interceding and watch the giant of abortion fall in the land.

This past Saturday the Lord woke me up at 4:14am. No doubt it was a reminder of the call of Esther. Esther 4:14 (NKJV)  – “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Church, it is time to rise.  There’s no time for silence.  We must storm the gates of hell in the prayer closet.  Storm the gates of hell in worship.  Storm the gates of hell by decreeing LIFE over the land! Hallelujah!

I will repent and turn from my wicked ways.  I will humble myself before the Lord.  I will seek his face.  And we will believe God for his promises.  He will hear us.  And he will forgive our sin.  And he will heal our land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) says “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

God has such good plans for us!! Plans to prosper us, not to harm us.  Plans to give us a hope and a future. (see Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)

One last thing, I want to also make something very clear.  The enemy is the enemy.  You are not the enemy.  No sin is too hard for God to forgive.  NO sin.  Repent.  God will take care of the rest.  Receive your healing.  God wants to use YOU to tear down the kingdom of darkness as you walk in his glorious light! For those that have received your healing already from the Lord, I encourage you to speak. To give testimony of what the Lord has done for you.  Whatever way that is. To a group of friends, on your social media page, or at an event.  Pray and the Lord will show you the right avenue.  You will be a living example of this verse to the world –

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV)

Much love.  Our God is near.
